I have a 7@I7 nuc, that will not go to sleep. I do not know if this is caused by Microsoft upgrades or Intel driver upgrades. I have tried the various fault finding procedures, on Google searches, but I cannot find anything wrong.

Any suggestions.

I am trying to attach ASUS ROG station 2 to my NUC.

I have installed "Thunderbolt™ bus driver" and when I "View attached devices" there is nothing there.

I have installed the latest Bios "KYSKLi70.86A.0050.2017.083" and selected Devices/Thunderbolt in BIOS setup.

When I run "Intel Driver and Support Assistant" everything is up to date.

I have also attatched DxDiag.txt to this question.

What to do ?

NUC5i5RYH - Cannot install Win 10 on M.2

Hi, I've seen this asked but haven't seen a solution.

NUC5i5RYH - M.2 SSD - Win 10. - BIOS 367

When trying to install Win10 via USB. I get to the "Where do you want to install Windows" disk screen and even though I can see the M.2 disk, I get the error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk......"

Bios --> Devices --> SATA  I see the M.2 listed there.

Bios --> Boot --> Boot Priority I see "UEFI: USB:UEFI:USB:8.07:PART0:OS Bootloader...."

I have tried with and without UEFI enabled.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chris

Loving my KYK

I know most come to the forums because they have problems they are trying to solve...

I purchased my NUC6i7KYK in January of 2017.  I absolutely love it.  I run Windows 10, with 8GB of RAM and a 512 GB M2 storage.  It's been awesome.  Boot-up time is amazing, and the performance has been fantastic for what I do.  Typical usage is Office documents, browsing the internet, and Lightroom for managing a library of 15,000+ pictures.

This is my first "mini computer".   I've built and used computers since my first Coleco ADAM computer back in 1983...  I wasn't sure what to expect from this NUC but I can say I have zero complaints!

6i5SYH no video signal - dead?

Hello. I bought on ebay 6i5syh. The seller sent to another country with assurances that everything is working. Got the goods, inserted the RAM (HMA451S6AFR8N-TF NO AC), turned on - the blue diode is on, there is no video signal for hdmi.

The seller says that the problem is in the RAM. I buy Crucial RAM. No Video signal. I buy an adapter with a minidisplay port on hdmi. No video signal. Inserting back HMA451S6AFR8N-TF NO AC - Power LED is blinking in a pattern of three.

I appeal in support of intel. Since I am not the first owner, I do not have the right to a guarantee. intel congratulated me on the purchase of a beautiful alumna useless box.

Prompt please - whether there is a chance to revive nuc?

Monitor blank after Intel HD 620 driver update on NUCi3BNH mini

On 11/11/2017 my NUCi3BNH running Windows 10 pro had an automatic Intel HD 620 graphics driver update. The next boot-up afterwards, my Samsung HD monitor connected to the NUC via the HDMI port gave an error message saying the HDMI source mode was incompatible with the monitor, and only showed a blank screen. I can use remote desktop to connect to this NUC, and i can see that Windows is running properly, and the graphics in the remote desktop on a separate computer look fine, but there is no visible output on the NUC HDMI monitor output.  I re-installed the HD 620 graphics driver update, and still the same.

Does anybody have an idea of what is going on, and how to fix it? I would very much appreciate any help.

Dave

NUC7i5BNK DSD over HDMI does not work

I've got an Intel NUC7i5BNK with Win10-64 connected to my Denon AVP-A1HDCI via HDMI. I can't seem to get it to stream DSD using Foobar2000 + WASAPI. DSD+PCM doesn't work either. No errors/no sound with DSD64 sources. I've got F2K configured properly for DSD. ASIO doesn't work either. My Denon does native DSD over HDMI fine from my OPPO so I know the Denon is capable.

NUC5i3RYH networking issues

Hi,

I've installed Lubuntu 17.10 on my new NUC5i3RYH and everything seems fine except the wired network. I can see the device using the usual Linux tools (ip, ifconfig, ethtool, lshw, etc.), assign an IP configuration to it and bring the device up. The ethtool utility reports that the device has a full-duplex Gigabit link to the switch (a Netgear GS108GE), the LEDs of the NUC's ethernet port and the Switch are lit thus saying the same as ethtool: the link is up. I can ping the device from the NUC itself, but however, I cannot send or receive packets from other machines in the network. What I've tried so far: checked the BIOS that the Ethernet device is activated (which it is), changed the switch port, the network cable, updated the BIOS (from RY0367.bio) and the intel network drivers (new version 3.4.0.2-NAPI). Still no success.

Do you have any advice what I could try before asking my vendor to exchange the device?

Kind regards,

Luke

NUC6CAYH slow USB 3.0 ports

I've just bought the NUC so I don't have any previous experiences (benchmarks). I've made all driver updates including latest 42 BIOS. OS is Win10 Pro clean install.

One thing I noticed are slow USB ports. I've tried system SSD to USB, USB to SSD, USB to USB, and the max seq write is 40 MB/s.

I checked/verified BIOS settings, set Power options to High performance, I even re-checked SSD and USB drives but they work fine and fast.

Does anyone have an idea what's wrong? What are your USB speeds?

Regards,

Thomas

Dual displays on thunderbolt 3 / USB-C port

Hi, i have already read others discussions about this and i came with a possible solution for my case (need three displays connected), but i need confirmation.

In Intel product compatibility page for NUC7i7BNH it is listed an USB Type-C docking station (UD-ULTCDL) from Plugable.

I wonder if it is really full compatible as it says on this page, assuming it will work for connecting 2 monitors on the USB-C port. As my interest is only on that I need to know it before buying the dock that is very expensive.

Thanks

I've run the auto update on my Nuc7i5bn and it tells me the version I have installed is 11.7.0.1045 and that the latest version is 11.7.0.1058 but I've downloaded and installed 11.7.0.1058 or so I thought

LG27UD58 disconnects when trying to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

$

Hello,

I just bought a NUC 6i7KYK.

The system:

- RAM: 1x Crucial 8 GB DDR4 2133 SODIMM 1.2 V CL15

- SSD: 1x Crucial 275 GB MX300 SATA M.2 2280SS

- BIOS: updated to 0050 (0041 was installed)

- Monitor: LG 27UD58 UHD 4K 27"

The goal:

- running Ubuntu 16.04.3 Desktop

The method:

- downloaded the Ubuntu ISO image to my Win 7 HP EliteBook

- prepared a 16 GB SanDisk USB 3.0 stick using rufus 2.18.1213 (thoroughly formatted and checked for defects, took almost an hour ...)

- booted the NUC with the USB in the front blue USB slot of the NUC (haven't tried others because that is not a very likely cause); power, HDMI, ethernet, mouse and keyboard connected

- the NUC recognises the boorable device and steers me right to the grub screen of the Ubuntu installer

so far so good ...

Now the issue:

No matter what option I choose (try Ubuntu without installing, installing Ubuntu or installing Ubuntu as manufacturer (yup, I even tried that)) the connection between the NUC and the LG is lost. The power Button on the NUC does not indicate anything. The device just keeps running (LEDs on without blinking or beeping and fan running). I supose it's loading the installer for Ubuntu, but I cannot see that because the monitor goes to power saving mode. Switching the RAM to the other slot didn't help. The compatibility between the NUC and the LG doesn't seem to be the problem, because I see things. I see the boot screen, I can enter the BIOS (obviously since I updated it) and I see see the initial Ubuntu boot screen. The bootable USB device isn't the cause either, because I can boot my EliteBook with it and go all the way to the actual Ubuntu installer. I can not test another monitor (do not have access to one with HDMI connection) or different RAM.

Anyone got any ideas how to solve this mystery? Or am I missing something obvious?

NUC6CAYH - monitor does not sleep

Hi,

i have new NUC6CAYH. Latest bios 0045, latest HDMI firmware 1.72. Current Windows 10 Home. HDMI 2.0 cable.

When I set the monitor to turn off after x minutes (windows settings - power a sleep), the monitor turns off for only 1 second and then switches on again (black screen 3 second). Then again 1 second off and on. And over and over again. When I move the mouse, the monitor turns on.

Any idea?

NUC6CAYH unable to boot, ring led status stuck in fade mode, BIOS defaults does not solve

$

Hi,

I've been using a linux based tool (GitHub - milesp20/intel_nuc_led: Intel NUC7i[x]BN and NUC6CAY LED Control for Linux ) to change the Ring LED on the NUC6CAYH to different colors and modes.

I may have stumbled upon a situation where the NUC is unable to boot after the ring led has been set to fade instead of being on solid.

To create the problem:

-     Set the ring led to "sw controlled" in the Visual Bios

-     Boot into linux

-     Load the driver and set the ring led to fade slowly in color white

-     Reboot the NUC, it is completely stuck, the ring led is fading slowly white but the UEFI does not seem to go past POST or even offer any options to enter the setup menu

To temporary fix the problem, clear CMOS as suggested here: Clearing CMOS on Intel® NUC

-     Plug AC power in

-     3 second power button trick to get into "safe mode"

-     Enter setup, load defaults (F9) and save

This sets the ring led back to "power status" and makes the NUC bootable again.

Here comes the tricky part:

After booting successfully with the new BIOS settings I rebooted the NUC again and set the ring led back to "SW controlled", thinking it would be back to defaults (off) and boot.

But after saving and rebooting the NUC the ring led is fading slowly white again, I hoped the setting (and possibly bug) would be gone.

Now I am unable to ever set the ring LED back to "SW controlled" since it renders the NUC unbootable.

Could this be a BIOS issue?

I'm running the latest version: "AYAPLCEL.86A.0042.2017.1117.1918"

Sincerely, Koen
