Unknown device in device manager

I just did a fresh install of windows 10 pro 64 bit and after installing all available drivers from intel driver page for my NUC model (5i5RYK), I still have an unknown device.  The CIR driver wouldn't install so I thought that must be it, but the unknown device still shows up even when I disable the CIR in bios.  Anybody else seen this?

Thanks.

NUC5CPYH choppy youtube playback

Hi,

Hope I'm posting this in the right section..

I have just purchased a NUC5C9YH for the purpose of a htpc. Problem is when I try to watch youtube the cpu sits at 100% making the video playback choppy. It also makes the rest of the system slow to respond (to close the tab etc)

So far I have tried

With Windows 10

Google chrome after a fresh install with no extensions running etc. Hardware acceleration on/off

Microsoft edge

And Firefox.

All browsers have the same issue.

With Windows 8.1

Chrome still has issue

Internet explorer seemed to work ok. But I had no intentions of sticking with 8.1 or IE.

If it matters the Nuc has 8gb ddr3 and a intel 60gb ssd

Any help appreciated! Nuc works perfectly apart from this problem.

Thanks!!

D54250WYKH - Display Port chained displays sleep/hang issues

Hi,

before I start digging in system settings -

I have two displays in DP chain connected to the NUC - Dell U2713H as first display and Dell U2711 as the last display in the chain - both displays work perfectly with full resolution on HD5000,

until they go to sleep, after that it's impossible to turn them back on, both displays show only factory power management messages.

I have turned off system sleep in W8.1 on the NUC, displays only can may go to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity, but still the behaviour is extremely annoying as stated above.

The only way to get displays working again is to power cycle NUC - power-cycling main display (unplugging/plugging power cable from/to the socket)

- has anyone had this experience before?

Such behaviour makes using NUC with two DP chained displays very hard.

Win10 Drivers for NUC5i7RYH

I recently purchased a NUC5i7RYH.  I have a developer's copy of Windows10 installed.  But I cannot any of the Intel drivers for chipset, graphics, HDA, etc as the installer doesn't recognize Windows10 as a recent operating system.  The Win8.1-64bit installer errors out saying that my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements.  Is there a way to override the OS check and install the win8.1 drivers on a windows 10 system?  If not, when will the win10 drivers become available?

NUC5i7RYH won't work in 4K at 60Hz with Asus PQ321Q monitor in MST mode

Just got the NUC5i7RYH installed with a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 Pro.

I have the computer attached to an Asus PQ321Q 4K monitor that is set in MST mode using a high quality Displayport cable.  When in this mode, the display only shows on the left side of the monitor.  If I set the monitor to SST mode, I get the full screen but it only works at 30Hz.  I would like to get the monitor to be used in 4K at 60Hz.  The same monitor in MST mode with the same cable works great with my Apple 2013 Mac Pro.

I did update the NUC5i7RYH with the latest Bios and the latest beta display drivers from Intel's download page.

Any help to get this configuration working correctly would be great.

Thanks!

Nuc won't turn on

I have bought a intel Nuc D54250WYK1 with an intel I5 4250U processor.  I installed the following hardware:

Samsung Electronics 840 EVO mSATA 0.85-Inch Solid State Drive MZ-MTE250BW

Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory CT2KIT102464BF160B

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 WiFi Bluetooth Half Mini Card

It was working fine for a few days with two monitors connected, W8.1 and other programs installed.  However when I tried to turn it on today nothing happened.  The green LEDs on the top of the unit are on, but when I press the power button nothing happens.  The light does NOT turn blue and it remains the same green color.  I have searched through several posts and reinstalled the RAM with several configurations (with one chip in the top module, with one chip in the bottom module, with both chips installed), however the unit does nothing.

If anyone has any solutions or suggestions, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse suddenly stopped working / NUC5i7RYH / Windows 10

I'm having a Intel NUC NUC5i7RYH running Microsoft Windows 10 Pro x64 RTM. My NUC has the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265. I just bought Microsoft Designer keyboard and mouse with Bluetooth and I've had problems, big problems, connecting them because they don't show up in the list of available Bluetooth devices. First I thought the problem were related to Windows 10, BIOS or the drivers and I even reinstalled Windows but the same problem occured.

  • BIOS version RYBDWi35.86A.0348.2015.0703.1124, 2015-07-03 (newest). I had 0249 before and the same problem with that version.
  • Intel Bluetooth driver for Windows 10 x64, version 17.1.1504.05G (newest). But in the Device manager-->Bluetooth I only have Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) which I found odd. I then checked on my Dell XPS 13 with Intel 6235 and as expected there were more devices under Bluetooth.

In another thread I read about removing the power cord from the NUC to resolve the problem and even if it worked for a few I couldn't imagine it would do the trick. So I turned off my NUC, removed the power cord, put the power cord back in and started the computer. Now there were more devices in Device manager-->Bluetooth and the computer could "see" my Microsoft Designer keyboard and mouse and also my Harman Kardon SoundSticks III Wireless and I also could pair all of them.

Now I thought everything was OK but after about 5 minutes the keyboard och mouse suddenly stopped working. If I check connected Bluetooth devices they seem to be paired. I then unpaired them and set the devices in "pair mode" but Windows/NUC cannot detect the keyboard and mouse.

So, Intel, how do you want to proceed with this?

NUC5i5RYK wont shut down

I have Windows 10 installed and working reasonably well, except that it won't actually turn off when clicking "Shut Down".  The computer does everything you would expect when shutting down to include turning off the monitors, but the blue power light stays on and it becomes unresponsive until you hold the power button down for 5 seconds which causes the power to turn off.  Anybody else have this issue?  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Intel NUC and Windows Home Server 2011

I bought Intel NUC D34010WYKH and tried to install Windows Home Server 2011. But the installation stopped when some devices were missing:

Other Devices

Ethernet Controller

PCI Simple Communications Controller

SM Bus Controller

Universal Serial BUS (USB) Controller

Unknown device

Now I can't yet install anything but first I need the controllers.  Home Server 2011 is based on Windows Server 2008 and sure there should be controllers for it.

Best regards

How to get NUC5CPYH passthrough DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD Audio?

I am using NUC5CPYH with Windows 8.1 and the latest Intel graphic driver, but it cannot passthrough DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio via HDMI to my AV receiver on any programs.

So, are there any ways to get NUC5CPYH passthrough DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD Audio?

Couldn't get into BIOS setup using F2

Turns out turning off n-key rollover (NKRO) on my Ducky keyboard finally allowed me to get into the BIOS setup on my DE3815TYKHE. With NKRO on, F2 (and F7, but not F10) was being ignored during the boot sequence.

I can find no mention of this particular issue on the forum so maybe this post will save someone a few hours of troubleshooting.

DN2820FYKH Win7 Youtube 1080p framerate problem (Flash)

Hi,

I recently installed Windows 7 SP1 on my DN2820FYKH and have all the necessary drivers and I am experiencing issues with Youtube playback in 1080p with either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer 11. I have tried updating flash (Google Chrome has it built in) and updating Flash on the NUC for IE 11.

It just seems like the NUC struggles with 1080p content in both of these browsers, the CPU gets pretty high. I have tested playback of 1080p content through the VLC media player and it works great.

I am wondering, has anyone else experienced this issue? Any fixes?

5i5RYK Dual Monitor Issues

I've had numerous dual monitor issues with my NUC5i5RYK which always seem to be different depending on which OS and/or drivers I'm running.  I'm now using Windows 10 64 bit with the the 10.18.15.4256 driver.  When the computer wakes up from sleeping (I'm using intel ready mode which has quiet hours) both monitors don't always wake up.  Only one does.  The fix is to turn the "on" monitor off and then back on and then they both wake up.  Intel are you aware of this issue?  I didn't have it with some versions of the drivers in windows 8.1.

HD6000 3D performance issue

Using PowerDVD 15 I am seeing inconsistent playback of 3D blu ray. When I start a 3D movie (TV is a Vizio M801D-A3; 1080p/24Hz; frame-packing), the image may distort frequently and cause an image that appears to almost look like its viewed underwater. Depth of the image is also incorrect for seemingly random parts of the image. If I then pause the movie for a few seconds, or back up to the beginning of the chapter, the issue so far resolves itself, but sometimes it takes a few tries to do so.

This seems like a driver bug. I did not have this issue using PowerDVD 15 with Nvidia graphics on my previous build. Attached is my Intel system profile and dxdiag report if that helps. I'd appreciate any assistance.

DC53427HYE hangs at Intel bios logo when USB 3.0 DAS is connected

DC53427HYE with latest RKPPT10H.86A 0030 Bios

8GB memory

120GB Intel msata SSD

Windows Server 2012 R2

This is a manifestation of the same issue described here.

Re: D34010WYK does neither boot from USB 3.0 nor boots with plugged USB 3.0 drive

The DC53427HYE NUC will hang at the Intel bios logo and not successfully boot from cold or from a reboot when a USB 3.0 disk is attached to the USB 3 port.

I have tested and confirmed the issue with both an unpowered Iomega EGo USB 3.0 hard disk and an externally powered WD Essentials external USB 3.0 hard disk.

Extensive testing over the weekend with UEFI enabled and disabled in the bios settings produced  the same hanging at Intel bios logo result.

My testing also found that if the attached USB 3.0  disk is completely blank with no partitions (Primary or Extended) configured, the system will boot from cold and reboot successfully into the OS on the msata SSD.

This clearly points to the issue residing in the NUC bios at cold boot/reboot  time.

It is *not* an issue with the OS running on the platform. Both disks hot plug successfully when the OS is running.

Please fix. The NUC is unusable until I can get it rebooting stably with external USB 3.0 attached storage.

Regards

Greg
