NUC8i7HVK trying to RAID 2 800P SSDs

I have BIOS 0040 installed.

I am attempting to RAID 2 800P SSDs and I am getting some kind of bug in the BIOS. This is what I get in the 3 ways I can configure M.2.

As you can see when attempting to remap these drives to RST M.2 drive #2 does not do so correctly.

I have already swapped drive positions and M.2 #2 still will not remap.

NUC7PJYH - No signal on Samsung 4K TV when HDMI UHD Color is ON

$

When I turn on "HDMI UHD Color" for the input to which the NUC is connected, TV says "No Signal".  HDMI UHD Color is needed for 3840x2160 @ 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma and presumably configures the HDMI port as 2.0. When the PC boots - no splash screen, no BIOS (after pressing F2).

If "HDMI UHD Color" is OFF, everything is fine, splash screen appears, and then BIOS (if I press F2). TV reports 3840x2160 @ 30Hz and the splash screen is apparently in 4K.

Similarly, in windows. When I switch to 60Hz (with "HDMI UHD Color" ON) I get black screen and then "No signal".

It looks like when the HDMI port on the TV is configured as 2.0, NUC sends it something, which the TV does not understand.

TV:  Samsung UE40MU6100 (similar US version: UN40MU6300).

Cable: AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable, 6 Feet or 3 feet - Meets the latest HDMI standards (4K Video at 60 Hz, 2160p, 48 bit/px color depth); supports bandwidth up to 18Gbps.

Thanks

Hi ...

I have installed Mesh commander 0.6.3 it on a computer with windows 7 since a mini pcs calling system with intel v10 has been implemented in my workplace.

Currently, I have added more than 60 mini-pcs.
They are brand plexus with intel  v10 ...
But 9 of them have been installed with professsional windows7 and when I try to access them with remote desktop it gives me timeout ...

However, about 58 computers with the same hardware but with the fedora linux distribution, I can access by remote control without problems and restart them and interact with the desktop ...

I would have to configure some parameter in the mesh commander or in the minipcs with w7 professional to be able to access by remote control and interact in the desktop as with the linux (fedora)? ....

A thousand thanks...

NUC8i7HVK no HDMI audio signal when connected to receiver

I have set up the NUC as an HTPC. The HDMI connection from the NUC goes to a receiver and then from the receiver to the TV. The PC desktop is displayed on the TV but no sound output devices are found. The PC says that nothing is connected?

I have checked the HDMI cables and they are working. Reconnected my old NUC6i7KYK and is able to send audio and video through receiver to TV.

I bypassed the receiver and connected HDMI directly to NUC. Video and sound were sent to TV.

Why would the NUC HVK HDMI sound not work when connected to receiver?

SMBIOS Information Not Displaying in Windows 10

Hello,

I recently started deploying around a dozen NUC's and I am running into an issue. Due to asset and imaging requirements, we require the SMBIOS to be filled out with the serial number, manufacture and internal asset tag. Before you say you have to use tha ITK to push this data in.. I know.

IMG_1577.JPG

You can see in the image above I have configured the SMBIOS settings the way we need them to be configured. Once this was complete I deployed our image and notice the drivers' injection script was very fast. So I logged into the machine once the image was deployed and noticed that I was unable to get the information required from the command prompt.

BIOS issue.PNG

I have since reflashed the bios and even reset the SMBIOS settings and I am still unable to get this to work on 4 of my devices, some were working on previous BIOS version and are no longer on the latest.

I have about 5x NUC6i3SYK's and 8x NUC7i3BNK's ALL on their respective latest bios firmware. Some work some don't in both types. Most are imaged to UEFI windows 10 64bit using the same base image. We have 3 with a Windows 7 Image (Same Base)

You can see from he above I have 3 stuck at the top and then the 3rd one in the second section I made a type and I am unable to correct it in the model number field.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No HDMI audio and video flickering issues 8i7HNK1

i purchased a new Hades Canyon, and started using it today. Already I’ve encountered a few major issues, and I think I’ve seen threads from other people with similar problems.

Firstly, when using an hdmi output, the computer fails to recognize the television(or monitor, I tried both)as being available. The headphone jack works fine, but neither of the hdmi outputs seem to work. I’ve tried multiple screens as well as different hdmi cables.

Secondly, when attempting to watch a video, more often than not I’m seeing a large amount of video flicker. Videos streamed in iTunes are al,ost unwatchable because of this. Videos off of an external hard drive I have are better, but still not good.

I have Windows 10 home installed, and have updated to bios 40(the latest one I could find for this unit).

I recently bought NUC8i7HVK and the CPU runs really hot.

I've disabled Turbo Boost for now but this is no solution in the longer term.

My Question: Why aren't we allowed to undervolt CPU Vcore?

Can you please fix this with a bios update?

Hi all,

Just received my new setup with Intel NUC8i7HNK. To get started quickly I first created an image of my old workstation (Intel NUC D54250WYK), but got hard crashes. Had to use the power button for a couple of seconds to reboot the machinTwo days ago I installed Windows fresh with all recent drivers (all from intel site) and bios (0040). Still have crashes. Even when only browsing with firefox with no other applications open.

Added components:

NUC 7i5BNH does not output 4K@60p with 10-bit YCbCr420 color + HDR

Hi all,

Just got myself a new LG 65B7 TV

Hooked my NUC to it - it switched to 4K automatically.

I has also able to change the output to 60Hz via the Intel management utility.

However, I do not see an option to change the color depth or format.

I saw some screen captures in other topics where people have an "advanced" in the "display" menu - while I do not.

Is it something I have to enable somehow?

Maybe the missing settings are hiding there...

Anyway, my current settings are stuck at 4K@60p with 8-bit YCbCr420, and I do not see any way to change those.

Updated the graphics drivers, flashed HDMI firmware, flashed BIOS, Windows is updated to the creators update.

Regarding HDR - I do see the toggle - but when toggled - it just goes back to being off.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

audio device disappearing

All,

I've seen a few threads related to my issue but no solution that I found

https://communities.intel.com/thread/108325

https://communities.intel.com/message/453487#453487

I have exactly the same issue where audio device disappears when amplifier and/or TV is turned off. I have 2 new NUC7i5bnh with updated bios/drivers etc. And, I get the problem on 2 different setups (1 going to onkyo receiver; 1 going to Samsung TV directly). Is there a solution here?

Using this as an HTPC for my mom.  Right now it's hooked up HDMI into her receiver, which then of course connects to her TV HDMI.  It works great, no problems, until she stops for the night and turns off her TV and Receiver.  When this happens, the NUC (Windows 10 x64) shows the speakers are disconnected.  Since the receiver is off, and the audio device is the HDMI, that makes sense.  The problem is it doesn't come back when everything gets turned back on.  We have to reboot the NUC to get it to recognize it again, and this gets annoying because it kills the VPN and I have to remote in and reconnect it and so on and so forth.  The audio device still shows up in device manager, but does NOT show up at all under playback devices, even as a disconnected device.  Any ideas?

D54250WYKH thermal pad

Just upgraded Intel NUC Kit D54250WYKH with Crucial MX500 500GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD (CT500MX500SSD1) and experiencing high hard drive temperatures (over 50C).

Raised fan minimum duty cycle and managed to lower HDD temperature to 48C per instructions:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005914/mini-pcs/intel-nuc-kits.html

Since D54250WYKH is discontinued and does not have the thermal pad already installed, how/where to purchase thermal pad for it?

I understand thermal pad should stick to chassis, but when closed it should slightly touch SSD which is 7mm (thinner than original 9.5mm).

Anybody aware of what exactly thermal pad should I purchase to resolve high SSD temperature?

Many thanks.

integrated Digital microphone array (DMICS) doesn't work after update Realtek drivers

the integrated Digital microphone did worked when I install Win10 at first, but if I install the "Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7HNK, NUC8i7HVK" version 6.0.1.8323 provided, the microphone stopped working, I tried several times ,same results.

So i had to uninstall intel driver and then install the realtek HD audio driver from the realtek's own website, http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsview.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false, it really worked and saved my microphone back, but without the Realtek HD Audio Manager, anyone surfer same problem ? How can I got the microphone and the realtek audio manager worked same time?

NUC5i3RYH 3 blinks, won't boot

Hello

My NUC stopped booting and the screen stays black.

The blue power led blinks 3 times, which seems to indicate a RAM issue (it used to work just fine).

I swapped the RAM stick with 2 others, different brands but both 1.35V, and tried in the 2 RAM slots. Still nothing.

A clear CMOS didn't help either.

The power supplies delivers 19.4V, the 5V, 3.3V and 1.35V on board are present.

Is there a troubleshooting procedure for the Serial presence detect (SPD) ?

Many thanks

Romain

Failures of Intel(R) Display Audio on NUC

$

I'm having a terrible time with HDMI on my new NUC. Hours of searching and research have revealed others having similar issues, but those threads always seem to end without resolution. Frustrating.

I have the NUC7i5BNK J31144-309 HDMI port connected to an HDMI 2.0 port on a new LG43UD79 4K monitor 3840x2160 30Hz, Win10 display scaling either 100% or 150%. The NUC BIOS is updated to latest BNKBL357.86A.0063.2018.0413.1542, and I have tried setting the BIOS default display to either AUTO or HDMI. I have simultaneously removed both drivers, rebooted, and let Win10 re-install them. They are the latest available (April 6) versions including Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics 640 version 24.20.100.6025 and Intel(R) Display Audio version 10.25.0.5.

My NUC is set never to sleep. Whenever the monitor is blanked and turned off, or if the input source on the monitor is switched to another computer, there is no audio when the monitor is restored. The volume control system icon reliably has a red 'x' on it, and there is no corresponding playback device. Going to the Device Manager for Intel(R) Display Audio and using Disable followed by Enable sometimes resolves the issue. Other times, a reboot is required.

This is evidently a long term problem that has not been addressed by Intel but should be easy to reproduce. I also have the problem of all windows getting shrunk to the upper left all the time, but the audio problem is pretty much a show stopper for trying to replace my 8-year-old old Win10 tower with a NUC. System Support Utility output is attached. I could really use some suggestions for things I haven't tried yet.

Thanks,

Curt

LED issues

I've got problems with the LED's not turning off after (what I think is a) Windows 10 Pro Auto Sleep feature, its not all LED's either, Front LED 1 and 2 works as expected, but the rest (Power Button, Skull, Eyes and Front LED 3) gets stuck in the last configured state after this happens, after installing the latest BIOS, with some hassle by underclocking the RAM, an hard power reset (unplugging the power) seems to solve this issue and its also the only thing that solves it, even though it's pretty annoying when it happens. Does anyone else have this? The Windows LED configure tool think it changes the LED's but nothing happens with the mentioned LED's, changing Front LED 1 & 2 works however. Even if I try to sleep, hibernate or shut down the device completely from Windows the LED's are still on after this happens.

Also, is is normal that the chassis seems to have a small gap that makes the led create a stripe of light underneath the unit like this?
